New rules for 2011, please take note.
All new rules are highlighted in red
1. Ride in 1st gear only when not on the track.
2. Sign Up as soon as possible. Drivers meeting following sign up in front of announcer's booth.
3. Equipment: Riders must wear a helmet, goggles, boots above the ankle, a long-sleeve shirt. gloves, and chest protector. Quads must have a tether-type engine kill switch.
4. Numbers must be on all 3 sides. If the scorekeepers cannot see or read your number they may n ot score you.
5. Waivers: Everyone signs a waiver and a sign up sheet. Parent or Legal Guardian must sign and be present for children under 18 years old.
6. All kickstands must come off: Shifters must come off in the 50 stock class.
7. Participation trophies (4th place and up) will be given to the 50cc and 65cc classes only.
8. Placement trophies will be given to 1st through 3rd per class for all classes other than 125A, 250A, Open , 30+ and the adult Quad Class.
9. 125A, 250A, Open, 30+ and the adult Quad classes will be awarded CASH prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
10. Certain classes may be run together and scored separately at the Club's discretion.
11. 50cc and 65cc riders may have 1 parent/guardian on the track to aid riders with getting up and restarted. Absolutely no children under 19 are allowed to be on the track for assistance in these classes.
12. 50cc stock, 50cc modified, 65cc beginner, Small trail and Big Trail classes will ride the SMALL track. All other bikes will ride the ENTIRE track.
13. Tie breakers: The 2nd moto always determines overall finish for the day.
14. If a rider (or member of family) uses foul language or threatens or strikes another rider or track official, that rider is subject to instant disqualification for unsportsman-like conduct.
15. It is not the responsibility of the track officials to aid riders up in the event a rider goes down while racing. The track officials will assist the rider(s) as much as possible, but their first priority is alerting other riders of the downed rider(s) ahead.
16. REMINDER: YELLOW FLAG: When a track official puts out the yellow flag that means CAUTION - Don't pass and don't jump near yellow flag until past the downed rider.
17. REMINDER: RED FLAG: When a track official puts out the red flag that means the race has been stopped. All riders must STOP as soon as they see the red flag. Do not ride your bike until you have clearance from the track officials.
18. SERIES INFORMATION: This years series will be an option for riders. Any rider who enters the series will pay a onetime fee of $25.00 for each class he/she wants to be in.
Riders should sign up at the 1st or 2nd race or practice. You must be signed up to receive series points. POINTS WILL NOT BE RETROACTIVE TO THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON. Those riders in the series will receive 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies. All riders attending the end of the year banquet (following the September race) will have a chance to win gifts from area sponsors. Once again, there will be a POINT SYSTEM to award the top riders for the summer. The point system will work as follows:
1st place =25 points, 2nd = 22 points, 3rd = 20 points, 4th = 18 points, 5th = 16 points, 6th = 15 points, 7th = 14 points, 8 = 13 points, 9th = 12 points, 10th = 10 points, 11th = 9 points, 12th = 8 points, 13th = 7 points, 14th = 6 points, 15th place and above = 5 points.
19. Adult riders - if you are found to be drinking alcohol at any time during race you will be disqualified and asked to leave club.
20. If a rider finished in the TOP 3 overall in 2010 Alpena Cycle Club Series - the rider must advance to the higher class for 2011. If a rider rides the same class and had finished in the top 3 - no points will be given. (Note rider may be riding bigger bike which would automatically put rider in a different class). List can be found in the club during signup.
Some Examples: 125 C overall finish for 2009 was 3rd place - must move to 125 B in 2010. Top 3 B's will move to A's.
21. Once you enter a bike during registration - that is the bike you MUST ride for the remainder of the day (excluding practice). If something happens during practice and you need to change your bike PRIOR to the 1st moto you must notify the person in the CLUBHOUSE not the announcers booth/track officials. No changing of bikes between motos.
